The III All-Russian Youth Pedagogical Forum ended on October 24 at the All-Russian Children’s Center “Orlyonok” in Krasnodar Territory. The Forum, which was aimed at identifying and supporting pedagogically gifted schoolchildren, developing a sustainable interest in the teaching profession and integrating them into the pedagogical space of the country, brought together 300 students of specialized teacher training and psychology classes aged 14-17 from 79 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The forum agenda focused on communication between the future teachers and their mentors, the best representatives of Russia’s pedagogical community. Winners and prize-winners of the Teacher of the Year of Russia contest, popularizers of science and other experts held motivational meetings and educational sessions for the forum participants. Educators of the All-Russian Children’s Center “Orlyonok” as well as students of teacher training universities subordinated to the Ministry of Education of Russia, who achieved outstanding success in social, creative, educational and sports activities, became counselors at the forum.

Teenagers worked in project groups, learned how to interact with the audience, tried their hand at solving creative problems, and had an opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills. For two weeks, future teachers conducted lessons and extracurricular activities in ten areas of teaching profession and created a portfolio of pre-professional development. More than 50 children under professional guidance staged a musical performance “Heart Given to Children”, which told about the life and professional path of the outstanding Russian teacher Vassily Sukhomlinsky and was attended by more than 600 people.

The final event of the forum was the Festival of Students and Mentors, where mentors presented their experience of working with students of teacher training and psychology classes and discussed current approaches and effective practices of building networking between such classes and teacher training universities, professional development institutes and regional executive authorities. Forum participants met with People’s Teacher of Russia Pyotr Golovin, who spoke about his path in the profession and motivation in pedagogical work.

The III All-Russian Youth Pedagogical Forum was held in the Year of Teachers and Mentors on the initiative of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, organized by the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia.
