In the Year of Teachers and Mentors, the Forum for Classroom Teachers in Moscow became a platform for students of specialized psychology and teacher training classes from all over Russia to meet with winners and awardees of all-Russian and regional stages of professional pedagogical contests and representatives of the Ministry of Education of Russia. Tatyana Vasilyeva, Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, took part in the meeting held on October 6.
The event was attended by 40 schoolchildren from Moscow and Moscow region, their teachers and mentors. Delegates of the All-Russian Youth Pedagogical Forum, which is taking place in the All-Russian Youth Pedagogical Center “Orlyonok” in Krasnodar Territory on October 4-24, 2023, joined the meeting remotely and addressed their video questions to the teachers.
Tatyana Vasilyeva told the children about the significance of the Year of Teachers and Mentors in Russia, which is aimed at raising the prestige of pedagogical profession and the role of teachers in society. She drew attention to the relevance of educational work in schools, to ensuring the educational sovereignty of Russia, and reminded about the opportunities created in Russia for continuous professional development and self-realization of both schoolchildren and their teachers.
Winners and prize-winners of all-Russian and regional stages of professional competitions “Teacher of the Year of Russia”, “First Teacher”, etc. told the future teachers about their way into the profession, answered the children’s questions and shared some professional secrets and useful advice.
The meeting also discussed the topics of organizing internships for students of teacher training classes, interaction between teachers and parents, assessment of students’ knowledge and skills at school.
