
All-Russian meeting “Specialized psychological and teacher training vocational classes as a condition for the development of teacher training system in the Russian Federation” was held on May 12, 2023, at the Academy of the Ministry of Education of the Russia. This is the first large-scale event on the topic.
“The Russian educational system evolves, meets the challenges of time, the needs of economics and socio-economic development. It is constantly changing under the new trends in science and technologies. In this regard, one of the main tasks of the educational system is training teaching staff who will be ready to respond dynamically to the challenges of time. Preparation of the shift is a crucial issue. Specialized psychological and teacher training vocational classes are a working model for building a system of professional orientation and assistance in students’ professional self-determination,” said Tatiana Vasilyeva, Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation.
Nikita Bushtets, representative of the Ministry of Education of Russia, said: “Today in Russia there are more than 3.5 thousand teacher training vocational classes with more than 50 thousand students.”
“Today’s event is the first major, all-Russian meeting in the modern history of the educational system, dedicated to the progress of specialized classes in the Russian Federation,” said Pavel Kuzmin, Rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia.
Tatiana Sukhanova, Rector of the Institute for Educational Development Strategy, introduced the basic principles of curricula formation for various profiles, including disciplines of psychological and teacher training orientation.
“The Academy is the coordinator in the development of the network of specialized classes for pedagogically minded youth. It provides organizational and methodological support to teachers and those responsible for the creation and functioning of such classes,” said Irina Taradanova, Vice-rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia.
Regional experience was also discussed in the meeting as well as working models of specialized classes at the base of teacher training universities and colleges, the content of teachers’ activities, and the practice of working with students in such classes and their parents.
