A special broadcast of the seminar “Education Vector: Challenges, Trends, Prospects” of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia was held at the Russian Military Historical Society on November 20, 2023. During the meeting, Maxim Kostenko, Acting Rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia, and Vitaly Martynyuk, Executive Director of the Russian Military Historical Society, signed an agreement on cooperation.
“Today’s agreement is a start to even more large-scale, intensive and interesting work to strengthen historical memory and expand the range of formats and content of historical education in all educational organizations of the country,” said Maxim Kostenko.
Under the agreement, joint scientific, training and educational projects will be developed and implemented, including additional teacher training programs. The cooperation is aimed at the development of education, science and culture, as well as sustainable development and preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the Russian Federation.
“We have already released and implemented a joint professional development course, and I am sure that we have a lot of interesting and effective things ahead for our teachers and educators to make the study of history easier and more exciting,” said Vitaly Martynyuk.
During the seminar, the participants were introduced to the unified history textbook and the professional development program “Teaching National History at School: The Great Patriotic War”. The specialists of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia also told how the additional teacher training program “New History Textbooks: Teaching Content and Teaching Methods” will be implemented.
