The agenda also included workshops by the winners of the All-Russian competition of mathematics teachers, who spoke on mathematics education, problem-based and integrated learning, formation of mathematical literacy, and effective methods and techniques of teaching mathematics.

“The Russian school of mathematics is a serious brand; Russian methods of teaching mathematics are of interest to many specialists in friendly countries. I think this is an important assessment of your achievements, dear colleagues. At international Olympiads, Russian children are always on the podium, which is also the merit of mathematics teachers and professors,” said Maxim Kostenko, Acting Rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia.

Professor Viktor Kornilov of the Moscow Pedagogical State University delivered a lecture on the pedagogical legacy of the outstanding Russian mathematician Leontius Magnitsky. “In the Year of Teachers and Mentors, we decided to give each room the name of a famous, significant person who made a great contribution to the Russian education system. I am very pleased that today, thanks to you, this classroom gets the name of the first officially appointed by Peter the Great teacher of mathematics Leontius Magnitsky,” said Maxim Kostenko.
